Dei Verbum - 2020 Bible Quiz - Registration and Information

Rules, Guidelines and Schedule
The Diocesan Bible Quiz is conducted at three levels (Parish, Zonal and Diocesan) for various age groups. The adult group can choose either the English or Malayalam version of the quiz at all three levels. The English Bible Quiz is based on The New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE) whereas the Malayalam one is based on the POC Malayalam Bible.

Groups:

Sub-Junior (Grades 4 - 6)
Junior (Grades 7- 8)
Senior (Grades 9 -12)
Adult (Above 12th Grade; Youth and Adults)

Topics:

Gospel of Mark - Parish level and Zonal level (for all Groups)
Gospel of Mark and Acts of the Apostles - Diocesan level (for all Groups)

Bible Quiz Dates:

Parish Level (Written) : Sunday, Dec 8th ,2019 (For our parish)
Zonal Level (Written) : Sunday, February 2nd, 2020
Diocesan Level (Onstage) : Saturday, March 21st ,2020

Registration Deadline : (Sunday, October 13th, 2019)

Note: CCD Kids Grade 4 and above are automatically registered and will take part in the Parish Level Bible Quiz. No separate registration required

Prize/Awards: Awards and cash prizes will be presented to the final onstage Bible Quiz winners (individual) from each group. The first, second and third place winners will receive a cash award, personal trophy and a certificate. The rest of the onstage participants will receive a personal trophy and certificate.

First Prize - ($1500, includes trophy and cash award for each group)
Second Prize - ($750, includes trophy and cash award for each group)
Third Prize - ($500, includes trophy and cash award for each group)

സെന്റ് തോമസ് ദൈവാലയം 10-ാം പിറന്നാൾ ആഘോഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവിസ്മരണീയ സമ്മാനവുമായി ചിക്കാഗോ സീറോ മലബാർ രൂപതാനേതൃത്വം- ലിവർമോർ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് പുതിയ മിഷൻ കേന്ദ്രത്തിന് ശുഭാരംഭം. ദുഖ്‌റാന തിരുനാൾ ദിനത്തിലായിരുന്നു കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ വിശുദ്ധ തെരേസയുടെ നാമധേയത്തിലുള്ള ഈസ്റ്റ് ബേ മിഷന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം.

ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തോട് മുന്നോടിയായി അർപ്പിച്ച ദിവ്യബലിയിൽ ചിക്കാഗോ സെന്റ് തോമസ് രൂപത ബിഷപ്പ് മാർ ജേക്കബ് അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് മുഖ്യകാർമികനായിരുന്നു. മാതൃ ഇടവകയായ മിൽപിറ്റാസ് സെന്റ് തോമസ് സീറോ മലബാർ ദൈവാലയ വികാരി ഫാ. ജോർജ് എട്ടുപറയിൽ, ഫാ. ജിമ്മി, ബൈറോൺ ഇടവക വികാരി ഫാ. റോൺ എന്നിവർ സഹകാർമികരായി.

Care to Share

Marian Mother’s organized a session with our CCD alumni to share the high school & college life experiences with their younger siblings in the Syro Malabar family. Fourteen graduates from our community were the panel members.

Preethy Thomas was the moderator and did a great job moderating and creating an environment where the children could be authentic and freely share their experiences.

Our college-going children did a wonderful job sharing their experiences and we are so proud of them! May God continue to bless all of them!

Church Onam celebrations 2019

We had a grand Onam celebration on August 24th starting with Onam Sadhya provided by Red Chillies followed by procession of Maveli, Thirivathira and Ganemela. 

We also conducted our first ward based pookalam competition. Thanks to all who participated in our celebrations. A special thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to make it a success.

സാന്‍ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോയില്‍ വാക്ക് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ് റാലി ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി

സാന്‍ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോ: മരണസംസ്കാരത്തിനെതിരെ ജീവന്റെ മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു സാന്‍ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോ സിവിക് സെന്ററില്‍ ജനുവരി 26നു നടന്ന "walk for life - വെസ്റ്റ് കോസ്റ്റ്", ജീവനെ അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ ഘട്ടത്തിലും ആദരിക്കും എന്നുള്ള കാതോലിക്കാ പ്രബോധനത്തിന്റെ ഉറച്ച പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിന്റെ വേദിയായി. അമേരിക്കയുടെ പ്രമുഖ നഗരങ്ങളില്‍ ജീവന്റെ മൂല്യത്തെ ഉച്ചൈസ്തരം പ്രഘോഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് "മാര്‍ച്ച് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ്" എന്നും, "വാക് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ്" എന്നും ഒക്കെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന റാലികള്‍ ജനുവരി മാസത്തിലെ ശനിയാഴ്ച വാര്‍ത്തകള്‍ ആണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ 15 വര്‍ഷമായി സാന്‍ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോയില്‍ ജനുവരി മാസത്തിലെ നാലാം ശനിയാഴ്ച നടക്കുന്ന "വാക് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ്" അമേരിക്കയുടെ വെസ്റ്റ് കോസ്റ്റ്‌ലെ ഏറ്റവും ജനപങ്കാളിത്തം ഉള്ള റാലി ആണ്. ഏകേദശം 50000 പേര് ഇത്തവണ പങ്കെടുത്തു എന്നാണ് ഔദ്യോഗിക കണക്ക്.

ജന പങ്കാളിത്തം കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം അല്ല മറ്റു പലതു കൊണ്ടും പ്രത്യേകതകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞതായിരുന്നു ഇത്തവണത്തെ വാക് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ്. സാന്‍ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോ ട.േ തോമസ് സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ഇടവകയില്‍ നിന്നും, സാക്രമെന്റോ ഇന്‍ഫന്റ് ജീസസ് ഇടവകല്‍ നിന്നും സീറോ മലബാര്‍ വിശ്വാസികളായ മലയാളികളുടെ സജീവ പങ്കാളിത്തം ഇത്തവണത്തെ റാലിക്കു മാറ്റു കൂട്ടി എന്ന് പറയാതെ വയ്യ. സീറോ മലബാര്‍ പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകങ്ങളായ മുത്തുകുടകളേന്തി ആണ് സീറോ മലബാര്‍ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ അണിനിരന്നത്. രണ്ടു സീറോ മലബാര്‍ പള്ളികള്‍ല്‍ നിന്നുമായി 100 -150 പേര്‍ ഈ റാലിയില്‍ ആദ്യാവസാനം പങ്കെടുത്തു. സെന്റ് തോമസ് സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ഇടവകയുടെ വികാരിയായ ഫാ. ജോര്‍ജ് എട്ടുപറയില്‍ന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ആണ് വിശ്വാസികള്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തത്. ട്രെയിനിലും ബസിലും ഒക്കെ ആയി ഉച്ചക്കു 12 മണിക്ക് മുന്നേ തന്നെ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ സാന്‍ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌കോയില്‍ എത്തി ചേര്‍ന്നു. ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫ് മിനിസ്ട്രിയുടെ നേതാക്കള്‍ ആയ ങൃ െ& ങൃ . ജോളിയുടെയും , കൈക്കാരന്‍ ഋഷി മാത്യൂവിന്റേയും ശ്രമഫലമായി തയ്യാറാക്കിയ ബാനര്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തി പിടിച്ചു മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങളും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനകളും ഒക്കെ ആയി അമേരിക്കയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് വന്ന പതിനായിരങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം സീറോ മലബാര്‍ വിശ്വാസികളും അണി നിരന്നു.

എന്ത് വില കൊടുത്തും ജീവന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു നില കൊള്ളും എന്ന കത്തോലിക്കാ തിരുസഭയുടെ വിശ്വാസ സത്യം ഓരോ മണല്‍ തരിയും ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞ, തണുത്തതെങ്കിലും വിശ്വാസ തീക്ഷണത ജ്വലിച്ച ആ ഉച്ച സമയത്ത് , അന്ന് വരെയുള്ള ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ നഗരം കാണാത്ത ഒരു കാഴ്ച കണ്ടു , കേള്‍ക്കാത്ത ഒരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു. ഗര്‍ഭിണികള്‍ ആയ ഏഴു വനിതകള്‍ വാക് ഫോര്‍ ലൈഫിന്റെ സ്റ്റേജിലേക്ക് കയറി, മൈക്രോ ഫോണും ഡോപ്ലറും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് അവരുടെ ഉദരസ്ഥ ശിശുക്കളുടെ ഹൃദയ മിടിപ്പിന്റെ നേര്‍ത്ത ശബ്ദം ജനാവലിയെ കേള്‍പ്പിച്ചു. പതിഞ്ഞെതെങ്കിലും വ്യക്തമായിരുന്നു ആ ശബ്ദ വീചികള്‍ മരണ സംസ്കാരത്തിന് മേല്‍ ഒരു ഇടിമുഴക്കം പോലെ അത് ആ സിവിക് സെന്ററിനെ വിറുങ്ങലിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോള്‍, അവിടെ കൂടിയിരുന്ന ജനഹൃദയങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും അത് മാറ്റൊലി കൊള്ളുന്നത് പോലെ തോന്നി. ജനിക്കുന്നതിനു തൊട്ടു മുന്നേ വരെ ഉദരസ്ഥ ശിശുവിനെ കൊല്ലാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുള്ള നിയമം കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ആയിരുന്നു ന്യൂയോര്‍ക് അനുവദിച്ചത്. അത് പാസാക്കിയ നിയമപാലകരോടും , ജനിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞവരുടെ ആനുകൂല്യം ആണ് ജനിക്കാന്‍ വെമ്പുന്നവരുടെ ജന്മം എന്ന് ഉറപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന നിയമ വ്യവസ്ഥിതിയോടും ആ ഏഴു ഗര്‍ഭസ്ഥ ശിശുക്കള്‍ ഉറക്കെ പറയും പോലെ തോന്നി "ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ജീവന്‍ ഉണ്ട്. ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ജനിക്കാന്‍ അവകാശം ഉണ്ട്".
